It's been at least seven days since the Hot Dish announced a new brewery opening, which means we're about due for another.

612Brew, started by friends and avid home brewers/marketing professionals Adit Kalra, Robert Kasak, Ryan Libby, and Jamey Rossbach, is set to open late this fall.

Located on the corner of Central and Broadway in the Northeast Park neighborhood of Minneapolis, 612Brew plans to have a taproom, growler sales, a menu of Indian street food, and eventually, have its beer available for sale in local liquor stores.

It's an ambitious build-out, but there are key players involved that will help ensure the project's success. Peter Remes, who recently finished the renovation of the historic building that is now home to Icehouse, is the landlord of the Broadway and is on board to do the restoration. 612 has also teamed up with a local equipment supplier and architect who have previous experience with brewhouses.

That's all well and good, but what about the beer?

612Brew plans to launch its brewhouse with two new beers. One will be an American-style pale ale called SIX, and the other will be a Rye IPA called Rated R. Others will release later in the year, including a German-style lager and an American-style black ale.

The brewers note that they will be bucking the local trend toward brewing beers that have high alcohol content in favor of a more drinkable (or "sessionable" if you prefer the industry term) beer.
