Chef Stewart Woodman, chef-owner of the acclaimed Heidi's restaurant, announced on his Shefzilla blog Tuesday that his newest venture is nearly ready for the public.The restaurant, Birdhouse, will begin a soft opening this week.
Stewart and Heidi Woodman are ready to take the next step
Birdhouse is Woodman's next evolution, serving sustainable, healthy food. He's been tweeting and blogging about the occasional staff yoga session, so he's not just riding a health trend but walking the walk.
The location of his new restaurant was recently Duplex, a house converted from coffee shop to restaurant that was open for six years before the Woodmans swooped in and scored the Uptown location.
Birdhouse will be holding a press preview tomorrow night and opening quietly for the next couple of weeks. The official opening is said to be in "late June."

On his blog Woodman speaks of a staff party involving keg stands. We'll just enjoy the mental image and wish them luck for their grand opening.
