Bowser Beer, the brew for dogs, coming to Pride festival

A meaty beer for your dog
Last week we published a list of our top five dog-friendly patios -- places that allow pets on their premises and have treats for your pooch and cocktails for you. But what about a whole bar designed just for dogs, right down to the beers they have by the bottle? The Twin Cities has yet to open an animals-only public house, but Keith Miller, owner of Bubbly Paws in St. Louis Park, is getting us one step closer by setting up a lounge for thirsty dogs at Pride fest this weekend, reports the Pioneer Press.

The lounge will serve nonalcoholic brews from Bowser Beer, a Seattle-based company that produces a noncarbonated drink for canines made of broth mixed with barley, essential vitamins, and glucosamine for healthy joints. The beer comes in Beefy Brown Ale and a chicken broth-based variety called Cock-a-Doodle-Brew and usually goes for $2 a bottle at Miller's store.

Here's what else dog owners can look forward to at the Pride lounge.

In addition to the Bowser Beer, Miller says he will also have a disco ball for dogs that are inclined to dance and little beer taps to mimic those at a real bar. The real centerpiece is an ice cream made especially for dogs and mixed with the Bowser Beer to create a float for your furry friend.
