It's about to be deja vu all over again at the corner of 50th and Bryant ... in a good way.
After suffering the loss of both Heidi's and Blackbird due to a devastating fire in early 2010, this Lynnhurst neighborhood intersection was recently given a new boost of energy thanks to the opening of George and the Dragon. Now, on the heels of that renewed interest, plans were unveiled and construction has started on a new restaurant at 50th and Bryant, appropriately called the Lynn on Bryant.
Will this new addition restore Lynnhurst to its former glory as a premiere neighborhood for destination dining? Here's a sample of what will be on the menu and how the building project is progressing so far.
The Lynn on Bryant plans to have a full-service espresso bar that will open early in the morning and serve coffee, fresh pastries, and "traditional breakfast fare." It will stay open through lunch, when they'll be serving soups, salads, tea sandwiches, blinis, and "baskets of warm Madelines." Dinner will focus on small plates and will feature a signature sous-vide burger.
Owners Jay D. Peterson (who you may recognize if you were a regular shopper/browser at Magers & Quinn, which he managed for nearly a decade) and Peter Ireland are committed to having plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and kid-friendly dishes available, already proving that they understand the demographic of the neighborhood they'll be serving.
Construction just officially began during the last week of June, so it's unlikely that doors will open any time soon. Stay tuned for updates.
