Parka is headed to Longfellow, hopefully before the first snow flies

A new coffee place and all-day restaurant is in development and set to open in the shared space available at Forage Modern Workshop on the corner of East Lake Street and 41st Avenue South. The proposed eatery is going to be called Parka, and some very promising partners are behind the project.

Here are more details:

According to their current city proposal and reports from the Heavy Table, Parka is going to be a collaboration between the folks at Dogwood Coffee, Rustica Bakery, and chef Erick Harcey from the excellent Victory 44. Dan Anderson from Dogwood and Steve Horton of Rustica worked together years ago on the buildout of Rustica and did this lovely interview together for Dogwood's blog back in the spring. It's worth a read if you want to know more about their ethos and also the kind of quality products you can expect to be served at Parka.

The concept is for a small casual cafe that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They will also be applying for a beer and wine license.

No word yet on when they will open, but Forage is already talking about it on their Facebook page and recently posted something cryptic about "amazing things planned for October 12". Stay tuned for more details.
