Here's an election we can all agree on. The Charlie Awards celebrate the best in Twin Cities food. Last year the awards recognized such local restaurant successes as the D'Amicos (Lifetime Achievement), Tim McKee (Outstanding Chef), and Piccolo (Outstanding Restaurant). For its second year, the awards organizers are again asking diners to vote for Outstanding Dish. Here's how it works:

Restaurants are divided by location: Downtown Minneapolis, Northeast Minneapolis/North Metro, South Minneapolis/South Metro, St. Paul/East Metro, and Twin Cities West Metro. The Charlie Awards website features pictures of the dish the restaurants have entered for consideration. Last year's winner was salmon with roasted corn sauce from Porter Creek Hardwood Grill in Burnsville.

Diners can cast one vote per neighborhood per day. That means if you're passionate about your restaurant pick, you can vote every day from now until voting closes at 11:59 p.m. October 28. Check out the Charlie Awards website here for the list of nominees and to vote.

To find out who won, join the Charlie Awards on Sunday November 11. Tickets are $35 for the main show and after-party (or $65 for a VIP day that includes a brunch before the awards.)  Purchase tickets here.
