Dogwood Coffee drives to raise $10,000 for Charity Water

The local coffee wizards at Dogwood coffee announced recently that they are going to be raising funds for a nonprofit organization called Charity: Water. Dogwood is trying to collect $10,000 to provide clean drinking water to an area in the Tigray region of northern Ethiopia.
Dogwood has already donated $3,000 to the cause, but has offered to match an additional $3,500 if they hit their campaign goal of $10,000. The campaign has already generated more than $3,500 and will continue to run until December 31.
Dan Anderson, one of Dogwood's co-founders, says that, "For us, this is a commitment that keeps larger priorities and issues in front of us. It keeps us aware of a humanity broader than the one we experience on a day-to-day basis. No pride, no badges, no guilt here--just a simple, proactive way to keep others in view and to help as we are able."

All funds from the campaign will be directly contributed to the building of a fresh water well, which will have the capacity to provide over 500 people with fresh water for up to 20 years.
