Northgate Brewing to debut flagship beer at Grumpy's NE

With Dangerous Man opening to the public last week and another new brewery, Northgate Brewing, set to launch very soon, it seems like northeast Minneapolis has taken its place as the latest hot beer neighborhood. So it's only appropriate that a Northeast bar will be the site of the unveiling of the northeast brewery's newest beer.

On Monday January 28, Grumpy's will be pouring Wall's End Brown, the first beer from Northgate Brewing. Co-founders Todd Slininger and Adam Sjorgen and head brewer Tuck Carruthers describe the beer as malty, English-style brown ale.
Though its facility will mainly function as a production brewery (i.e., no plans for a taproom), Northgate will offer growler sales and refills on site starting in February, reports the Downtown Journal. Grumpy's Northeast will have the distinction of being the only bar where Northgate will be served initially, but plans to expand distribution are already in the works, as are more batches of different types of beer.
