The Blue Plate is set for a new neighborhood

The Blue Plate Company is moving into a new neighborhood. The restaurant group that owns the Highland Grill, Longfellow Grill, Edina Grill, the Lowry,  Three Squares in Maple Grove, among others, is known for moving into neighborhoods with a casual, comfortable dining space and approachable food. Its proven track record for reading neighborhoods well will be put to the test in this new spot.

The North Loop has fast become the dining destination of the new year, with such restaurants as Borough and the Smack Shack (not to mention the already well-established Bar La Grassa and Black Sheep Pizza, among others).

The newest eat spot will be at 701 Washington Ave. N. Co-owner Stephanie Shimp shared with Minneapolis/St. Paul magazine's food editor, Stephanie March, that the project will be a brewery/restaurant, and they hope to open in the fall.

It will have about 200 seats plus a patio.
