Food & Wine opens voting for the People's Best New Chef

Minneapolis has a strong showing of best "new" chefs

Today Food and Wine magazine put out the call for the people to choose their best new chef. In the Midwest region there is a strong Minneapolis showing, with several familiar names.

The names, in alphabetical order are:


Paul Berglund of the Bachelor Farmer

Thomas Boemer of  Corner Table

Mike DeCamp of La Belle Vie (who was also recognized in the semifinals by the James Beard Awards).

Jamie Malone of Sea Change (also recognized as a semifinalist Rising Star chef by the James Beard Awards.

To see one of these familiar mugs inside the pages of the magazine, we've got to get out the vote. Fans can vote once per IP address. That means: one from work, one from home, and one from your phone will each count. Voting is open from today until March 18. Vote here.
