How soon is now? Morrissey's will open in time for St. Patrick's Day

In an effort to capitalize on St. Patrick's Day, the only thing about March that, let's be real, we all pretend is more fun than it really is because we desperately need something to hold on to in the midst of endless winter, Morrissey's Irish Pub in Uptown has announced an opening date that's just before the holiday.

Here are the details about what's on tap and what's on the menu:

Morrissey's, managed by Paul Crilly, a former manager of Keiran's Irish Pub, plans to open on March 14. It aims to fill the void of classic Irish pubs in this area near the corner of West Lake Street and Colfax.

The bar will have nineteen beers on tap and focus on the popular brews of the British Isles like Guinness, Harp, and Smithwick's, with a few local beers thrown in for good measure, reports the Southwest Journal. The food menu will consist of traditional pub fare like fish and chips, shepherd's pie, and bangers and mash.

In a smart move by the bar's owners, the kitchen will stay open until 1:30 a.m. every day, so if you need to fuel up during a late St. Paddy's bar crawl, you can stop by Morrissey's for a sausage roll.
