Sushi Fix's tuna poke: 50 Favorite Dishes, no. 35
As a countdown to the Best of the Twin Cities 2013, coming April 17, the Hot Dish is serving up 50 of our favorite local dishes.
Tuna poke me, please!
Tuna poke is tossed in a lightly salty sauce with avocado and fried beet chips. The tuna is wonderfully meaty and rolls over the tongue like a set of silky sheets. The lush, perfectly ripe avocado cubes are rich, fatty, and creamy. The tart, crisp beet chips add a welcome earthy, crunchy foil. Voluptuous, luxurious, and light, it's as opulent as any of those nearby lakeside homes, but for a fraction of the price. Kampai!
