|Visiting the Mr. Mustachio's truck, no facial hair required|
Mr. Mustachios pulled away from the Nomad World Pub and onto the downtown Minneapolis streets this week. The truck isn't new, but this was our first time visiting them. Was once co-owned by Nomad manager Kevin Kane, the truck's name grew from a Movember campaign, when Kane encountered some difficulty sprouting the requisite facial hair. What started as an inside joke became the name of the truck. (They are now under new management).* We stopped by for a first taste.
The menu varies, filled with great pub grub like fish tacos and sliders, but on our visit the menu was stacked with sausages. There was the Nicollet, an all-beef dog topped with barbecue, nacho cheese, and takis; the Nordeast, a Kramarczuk's brat topped with caraway rye-studded sauerkraut and stone-ground mustard; and the Lyn Lake, the Kramarczuk brat topped with sriracha, aioli, grilled pineapple, and three-pepper relish. The fries are so good that on this day, at 12:30, they were already sold out.
For vegetarians, they have also developed the Seward dog made from carrots.

We sought solace in the Nordeast brat. The perfectly ground pork mixture, spiked with nasal-clearing mustard and topped with that nearly sweet, crunchy slaw, was straightforward grilled perfection. The only thing that could have made it better was a beer. Good thing Mr. Mustachio's hangs out near the pub. They also visit some of the local breweries, so be sure to follow them on Twitter for the next location. Save us some of those fries, would you, please?
