Rounding up the best places to drink, dance, and be outside this weekend
The obvious choice for celebrating this weekend is City Pages Beer Fest (featuring beers from more than 30 breweries and food from Velee Deli Food Truck, Pat's Tap, Big 10, and Old Chicago), but if you're looking for more to do on Friday, Sunday, or Saturday before 5:00 p.m. and after 9:00 p.m. we have a few good options.

Beer Dabbler's craft beer magazine The Growler is celebrating one year in publication with a birthday bash at the Beer Dabbler store on West 7th in St. Paul. The party is on Saturday starting at 12:00 p.m. and going until 8:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Check the event Facebook page for more details.

There are lots of different events going on for Grand Old Day, but our pick for beer lovers is the outdoor garden at Grand & Grotto where you can get samples from Lucid Brewing, Odell, Tallgrass, and Alaskan Brewery. Tickets are available on the day of the event, but if you want to get a jump on the crowd get them ahead of time here.

Summit Brewing is partnering with Cajun 2 Geaux food truck to host an authentic, New Orleans-style crawfish boil tonight at their St. Paul facility from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Harriet Brewing's taproom in Longfellow will be open tonight and feature food from Little G's mobile pizzeria as well as live music. Had a Wodan Weizen there just last night and it finally felt like summer.
