|Sky Bar opens this weekend with a whole host of activities from yoga to hookah|
Patio season is in full swing and now that we've had steady days of sun and higher temps, some of the more elaborate, full-service rooftop bars are finally opening for the summer too. Uptown Cafeteria and Support Group, never one to do things quietly, is planning a full day of activities to coincide with the opening of Sky Bar, its top-level pièce de résistance which features a Roald Dahl-approved great glass elevator and lovely views of downtown Minneapolis.
Here's the full schedule of events celebrating Sky Bar's opening on Saturday, May 18.
Starting at 8:00 a.m. (yes, we were serious about the all day thing) Sky Bar and CorePower Yoga will be hosting a breakfast and rooftop yoga class. After a short break in the action, there's a five-course brunch hosted by Crispin Cider. It starts at 11:00 a.m., costs $30 a person, and comes with a beverage pairing to each course.
As the afternoon wears on, the hookahs come out. At 3:00 p.m. Sky Bar hosts a hookah smoking session with Imperial Smoke, who will provide some of their top favorite flavored tobaccos and offer hookahs for groups to rent by the hour. Finally at 10:00 p.m. Sky Bar ends the day with a cocktail party and $5 special drinks.
