|Eat well to end childhood hunger in Minnesota|
Each year a collective of the most talented chefs in the Twin Cities gather inside the Guthrie
to serve up delicious bites of food in an effort to end childhood hunger. Led by honorary chef chair and James Beard Award winner Tim McKee, the event is always a hot ticket.
This year the gala will be held on June 10 from 7 - 10 p.m. and will include music, small bites, wine, beer and cocktails.
Participating restaurants include Cafe Barbette, Be'Wiched, Grayhouse, The Lynn on Bryant, La Belle Vie, Masu, The Salty Tart, Sea Change, The Strip Club Meat and Fish, and more. Attendees get to hobnob with the chefs and sample their culinary delights. There are also craft cocktails -- both shaken and stirred -- on hand for sipping.
Held upstairs at the Guthrie, there are plenty of breathtaking views and the opportunity to picnic out on the endless bridge. Tickets are $75 in advance for general admission or $100 for VIP, which offers even more food samples and access to an exclusive bar area.
While some may balk at the ticket price, it's sobering to think that your paid cost of admission pays for 750 nutritious meals for a child, while the VIP admission can buy almost three months of mobile meal delivery for a child in need. According to their website there are over 231,000 food insecure children in Minnesota.
