|Rachel Slivicki just blew in from the windy city|
Butcher and the Boar
has announced the hiring of a new pastry chef, replacing opening chef Sara Botcher (who left to open Black Walnut Bakery). Rachel Slivicki hails from North Dakota, but was most recently working at the renowned Mindy's HotChocolate Restaurant and Dessert Bar in Chicago.
Slivicki was named one of Chicago's 20 Chef's to Watch
by Time Out Chicago in 2011 and recognized by Zagat as one of Chicago's 30 under 30
the next year.
She attended Le Cordon Bleu for her formal training. It was under HotChocolate's award-winning chef Mindy Seagal that she honed her pastry skills.
While Butcher and the Boar's dessert menu hasn't completely changed yet, keep an eye out for some new intriguing sweet options from the new rising star chef.
