On Sunday, Surly held a party celebrating both their seventh anniversary and the release of their new Belgian strong ale, appropriately called SeVIIn, at the Varsity Theater. Part of the night's festivities included giving guests a first look at the plans drawn up by HGA Architects for Surly's new destination brewery in Prospect Park.
Here's a sneak peek at the beer hall, the view from the garden, and the fermentation cellar.
Here's a look at the entrance to the fermentation cellar. Guests get a sense of the real size of the operation and the kind of equipment the brewery uses to make their beer.
Plans include a large garden that leads to the beer hall, an upper level deck, and patio seating.
Surly purchased the site at Malcolm and 5th St. SE back in April and say they could be brewing at the new facility as early as next year.
