Dari-ette Drive-In on St. Paul's East Side is a family-run and family-owned 1950s-style diner that's been serving the neighborhood for over 60 years. In addition to burgers, dogs, onion rings, and the other expected dine-in-your-car type of fare, Dari-ette is known for its Italian-American food. You can order a hot dago, bowl of spaghetti, or spicy Italian sausage from the speakerbox and a friendly carhop will bring it right to your parking spot.

The Drive-In saw a big spike in business after they were featured on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives along with Al's Breakfast, another long-standing local tradition. Fast-forward to the five minute mark to see the Dari-ette bit.

Dari-ette is open seasonally from April through October, which means you can go get that chocolate banana malt after dinner tonight. You know you're thinking about it.

My parents took us kids there years ago (like 50 years ago.) Gotta love the East Side.
