Ever wonder what a bartender looks like out in the wild -- not behind a bar? Their eyes squint, unaccustomed to the bright mid-day sun, their tender skin exposed to the elements quickly turns rosy, and their biceps flex -- conditioned from shaking so many cocktails. What doesn't change from their nocturnal natural element to roaming verdant golf greens is the fact that spending time with these guys is always fun.
The Northstar Bartenders Guild expands their events this summer in their ongoing effort to raise money for worthy charities. Monday is your opportunity to join them for what will likely be an epic golf tournament and help raise money for Hope Lodge.
All entry fees are 100 percent tax deductible, benefiting the Sandra J. Schultz American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Rochester, Minnesota. Hope Lodge Hospitality House serves as an extension of the healing process. They offer free or low-cost lodging for cancer, trauma, and organ transplant patients and their caregiver, in a supportive environment.
But entry isn't all about selfless goodness benefiting those dealing with illness. You get something out of the deal, too. A day of golfing also includes lunch on the course, beverages both boozy and non, gift bags, and various prizes.
Entry is $100 per person, teams are comprised of four people for 18 holes with a progressive raffle. Prizes will be awarded for the longest putt, longest drive, closest to the pin and, of course, the winning foursome.
Hosted by Columbia Golf Course in Columbia Heights, this Monday, July 15, registration will be between 8:30 - 9 a.m. Because of the booze, they do request that all participants be 21 or older. For more information visit their Facebook event page
