|Former El Meson is about to get a new resident|
Ever since Hector Ruiz's beloved tapas restaurant El Meson closed in the fall of 2012, neighborhood residents and food scenesters wondered who would take over the space. The tiny storefront is outfitted with a full kitchen, obviously, but could just as easily be turned into an office or retail store. The Southwest Journal
reports that the new tenant at 3450 Lyndale will, in fact, be a Vietnamese restaurant called Vo's.
Vo's owner, Francois Vo, who once ran another version of this same restaurant in northeast Minneapolis, tells Southwest Journal
that the menu will include traditional Vietnamese fare like spring rolls, pork and noodle dishes, and teas.
No official opening date has been announced, but Vo estimates he could be ready to open doors by August.
