|Ain't no party like an Augtoberfest party|
Where are these "dog days" of summer we've heard so much about? The temperatures have been easy on air conditioners, and a distinctive crispness lingers in the evenings. It's possible that the shortest summer ever is already sliding into fall. Might as well embrace the impending autumn and kick the season off right: with Augtoberfest.
On Sunday, August 18, Linden Hills will be ready to break out the lederhosen. Tilia is hosting its take on Oktoberfest with beer, local bands, and food.
This family-friendly, zero-waste affair will begin at noon. Wild Rumpus will have a special spot for the tykes with a lemonade stand whose proceeds will benefit People for Parks.
Music will be provided by the Melismatics, the Bill Patten Trio, the Dead Pigeons, Narco States, Southside Desire, batteryboy, the Katy Vernon Band, Crankshaft, Kevin Bowe and the Okemah Prophets, and Sleep Study.
Tasty treats will be on hand from Tilia (obviously), Red Wagon Pizza, Patisserie 46, Harriet Brasserie, and more.
Admission is $3 and a portion of admissions proceeds will benefit Linden Hills Power and Light (a neighborhood-based organization aiming to shrink our local carbon footprint). Festivities wind down at 9 p.m.
