|Beer, bugs, and live music at Smack Shack's Block Party|
Smack Shack, the North Loop's locus of lobster, just announced its summer block party will be held Saturday, August 10. The all-you-can-eat (and all-you-can-drink) event starts at noon and goes until 8:00 p.m. with a full lineup of live bands and a Louisiana-style crayfish boil-inspired menu.
Here are more details on the vittles, tipples, and where you can get your tickets.
A $40 ticket will get you entry to the event, happening outside the restaurant on Washington Ave., and as much coleslaw, boiled red potatoes, corn on the cob, spicy sausage, and local crayfish as you can possibly stomach. If that weren't enough to entice you, the bottomless cups of classic hurricanes and cold beer should seal the deal.
Featured bands include Tambuca, Year of the Horse, The Devine Collection, Root City Band, and Hard Luck. Get advance tickets online
or at the restaurant on the day of the event, provided it's not sold out.
If you've never had crayfish before and want to try them out before investing $40 on a ticket to eat bucketloads of them, you can also hit up the Bachelor Farmer's 2nd annual crayfish (a.k.a crawdads, crawfish, or mudbugs) festival, Kraftskiva, on August 3.
And if you find you really develop an insatiable taste for these little buggers, get more all-you-can-eat action at Ikea in Bloomington on August 16
