|Raise a glass to our local culinary awards|
It's a celebration of all the gooey goodies, the salty and the sweet, the incredible chefs and culinary innovators in these Twin Cities: The Charlie Awards are back for the third year of handing out their coveted plates to the best and brightest of our food scene. This year there will be just a few changes.
The Charlie Awards, named for Charlie's Cafe Exceptionale, a downtown Minneapolis restaurant that faded into the historic fabric of the city in the 1980s, celebrate the best chefs, restaurants, food trucks, pastries, and bartenders. There's also a lifetime achievement award for those who have made their mark on the industry.
The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, November 17, at 3:30 pm at the Pantages Theater with an after-party in the IDS Crystal Court featuring small bites, a cash bar, and a chance to mingle with all the big winners.
Unlike years past, there will then be an elegant VIP dinner prepared by last year's honorees and set among the stunning vistas at Gather by D'Amico inside the Walker Art Center. Tickets for the dinner are $125 with part of the proceeds benefitting Open Arms, a nonprofit food delivery service that caters to the nutritional needs of critically ill Twin Cities residents.
For those who would like to attend only the awards show and the IDS event, tickets are $35 for the general population, $25 for members of the hospitality industry. For more information, to purchase tickets, or to submit a dish for the popular vote, visit the event website
