|NoCal is local at Marin, now open for brunch|
After taking the summer months to settle in, Marin Restaurant & Bar at the Chambers Hotel has decided to ramp up its offerings and add weekend brunch service.
The NoCal-inspired restaurant does mostly low-cal elegance, but brunch is a time to indulge and get all your food groups into one killer midday meal. So what does Marin brunch have in store? Here's a peek at the menu.
The restaurant was already doing weekday breakfasts, mostly for hotel guests and morning power meetings, but they're making everything a little more special for the weekend, while still sticking to their largely gluten-free and mostly vegetarian and vegan-friendly menu.
Several of the flatbreads and lighter, fish-based entrees from dinner make it onto the lunch-ier side of the brunch menu, as does a new pita flatbread with smoked salmon. They're debuting a handful of elegant egg dishes including poached eggs with speck, kale, and corn sauce, and baked eggs with lobster, potatoes, and spiced tomato sauce. Both are served with a side mixed greens salad.
Brunch sweets still have a healthy spin. The waffles come with fresh blueberries and a little whipped cream, and they're made from a base of quinoa. Steel cut oats are finished with dessert-like caramelized bananas, a smidge of peanut butter, and a dollop of yogurt.
A la carte pastries and a couple of delicious-sounding breakfast sandwiches round out the menu. There's a fried egg BLT with harissa, perhaps a nod to the beloved version at 112 Eatery
, and a healthy whole grain egg muffin sandwich with chicken sausage and cheddar.
Brunch will run from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Fresh juice and made-to-order smoothies will be available too, if you tend to take your morning meal in liquid form.
