Free beer deal for shutout federal employees keeps getting sweeter
What's that joke about Miller Light and having sex in a canoe? Nevermind, if you're a federal employee, you can now get a pint of any kind of beer -- even a frosty pint of craft beer -- for free anytime today at one of the participating Tuesday Brewsday locations in St. Paul. No more drowning your government woes in near-water domestics.
Tuesday Brewsday began as a way to show support for furloughed federal government employees by offering them a free round of domestic beers from 4 to 6 p.m. every Tuesday until the end of the government shutdown. Shortly thereafter, the number of participating bars doubled, and now, the offer is even more enticing.
"We're going from a Miller Light to a Summit Saga," says Adam Johnson of Visit St. Paul. "It was actually the restaurants' idea to make the upgrade."
Each Tuesday, the following bars will offer a free draft beer to anyone with a valid federal government ID:
Get your free beer while you can because, who knows, the government could come to peaceable arrangement any day now. Right? Right, guys?here to purchase directly.
