The Twin Cities might already have an unofficial capital for our leather scene, but not everyone who is a part of, or curious about, that community is into bar-hopping.

Leather & Latte co-owners Greg Wisa, lecturer and author of a popular kink blog, and Luke Wallrich identified the need for a new hub that didn't focus on alcohol. The seed for their new business was planted. The store recently relocated from Loring Park to a space in Lowry Hill, and Wisa and Wallrich are working on adding the cafe component soon, reports the Southwest Journal.

Here are more details about their recent successful Kickstarter campaign, the retail space, and what the cafe side will serve.

The already established leather retail side sells custom-made leather gear and lubricants. Like Smitten Kitten in nearby Lyn-Lake, the shop aims to make its wares accessible and display everything in an open, airy retail setting.

The cafe side will team up with Angry Fox to serve their specialty Aztec hot chocolate, and Roastery 7 is making a custom Leather & Latte dark-roasted espresso blend for the shop.

The "...& Latte" part of the business reached its Kickstarter goal as of September 10, but no hard opening date has been determined yet. The owners say they are still waiting to get final approvals and licensure from the city of Minneapolis. Stay tuned for updates.
