Minnesotans may dread winter, but Lucid Brewing is already thinking warm, happy thoughts with the release of two new brews: Ora, a smoked amber ale and a fall seasonal, and Duce, an oak-aged Imperial red ale and a winter seasonal.

Ora will be available on draft at Eagle Street in St. Paul, New Bohemia in Northeast, Cafeteria in Uptown, and Bayside in Excelsior, and will also be available in autumn-colored six-packs. Duce makes its debut in late November, heating the coldest of months with its 8 percent ABV. The Duce will come in four-pack bottles.

Available now, Ora is an old recipe from the brewers that is just now making its public debut. "It was chosen for a fall release because the slightly smoked character and robust flavor reminds us of wood stoves and hearty meals after a day at the orchard," explains Lucid's Jon Messier. Duce, on the other hand, was previously available in 750 ml bottles but returns in a four-pack just in time for those first snow days.

I wish I took to Lucid beers better than I do. Although Weather Vane, which I heard runs out of the same facility, has been pretty tasty every time I tried it.
