Weekend brew round-up: Big River Brew Fest, Fall Food Truck Rally, and more
|More fests and firkins this weekend|
If you're looking for something to do tonight, Boom Island is releasing its Thoprock Wet, an IPA made with Centennial and Cascade hops grown very locally, in the brewmasters backyard. The event starts at 5:00 p.m. at Boom Island's brewery (2207 North 2nd Street) where they'll be pouring samples of this very limited release.
Town Hall Lanes is holding its Fresh Hop Fest this Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. For $10 at the door attendees will have access to a full array of fresh hop style beers from local breweries like Surly's WET, Indeed Mosaic Fresh Hop, Lift Bridge Harvester, Lucid Foto Fresh, Schell's Fresh Hop Pils, and about a dozen more from across the country. Get there early because these limited releases have a tendency to run out.
Also happening Saturday is the Fall Feast Food Truck Rally at Harriet Brewing. Starting at noon, more than a dozen local trucks including lauded newcomer Moral Omnivore, Hot Indian Foods, and A Cupcake Social, among others, will be lining up outside the taproom to satiate the hungry. For their part, Harriet will be pouring its Dark Abbey, Divine Oculust, Woluptuweiss, and Rauchfest as well as hosting live bands throughout the day. Check out the full lineup of trucks and music here.
In other taproom and brewery match ups, Cafe Racer will be at Surly's taproom tonight and Gogi Bros. will be pulling up around noon tomorrow. El Hefe Negro is on tap there this weekend as is SurlyFest, Dampfbier, Bitter Brewer and a few others.
Vellee Deli will be slinging their signature burritos outside Fulton Brewery tonight and Get Sauced will be there tomorrow.
612Brew hosts Motley Crews Heavy Metal Grill this evening and Bloomy's Roast Beef Truck will be parked outside on Saturday.
