Top billing for weekend drinkin' goes to Surly's annual Darkness Day, happening this Saturday at their Brooklyn Center brewing facility and grounds. It's a whole day (and night before, if you're one of the diehard camp-out types) of beer, bands, and food trucks starting at 11:00 a.m. and going strong until 5:30 p.m. In addition to Darkness, Surly will be pouring all their usual greatest hits, but in order to prepare for the crowds the taproom will be closed on Friday and Saturday.

While not strictly a beer event, this Sunday is the last installment of the Iron Bartender competition at Icehouse. Starting at 8:00 p.m. defending champ La Belle Vie will be going head-to-head with Eat Street Social and underdog Pig Ate My Pizza will flex their muscles against perennial favorite Marvel Bar. The cover at the door is $8 for this event and if you missed out on the first, you can catch up on the outcome from round one here.
