Yoga and beers at 612 Brew
RelaxingMusic Looks like that hand could use a beer.
For those who seek a new, intoxicating environment in which to practice yoga, 612 Brewery is hosting a yoga session and beer sampling on November 9 and November 23. Before the brewery opens to the public, professional yoga instructors will lead a one-hour class in the brewery, among the fermentation tanks. After class, yogis will rise from their mats -- namaste -- and sample four, 7-ounce 612 Brews.
Jennifer Hague of YogaFresh in Woodbury, will be leading the class on November 9 and admits she isn't exactly sure what to expect. She says she has led yoga outside of a studio before -- in parks, schools, office buildings -- but never in a brewery.
"I think it's groovy," Hague said, "It's not something I've thought of before, but it really makes perfect sense to me. It should be pretty much the same as practicing yoga any other place, but with a different playlist."
... And a heightened sense of awareness that a cold, hoppy refreshment is just one pose away. Good luck holding that plank with visions of sudsy steins dancing in your head.
