Rye Deli releases a creative new holiday menu
For the first time since 1888 Hanukkah and Thanksgiving will fall on the same day. It's a mathematical anomaly, yes, but more importantly, it's a perfect excuse to celebrate the all-new food-centered super holiday that will heretofore be known as Thanksgivukkah.

As far as we know, only one Twin Cities restaurant has gone so far as to make a full mash-up menu for the holiday and we must say, we're intrigued.

Rye Deli's Thanksgivukkah menu features delightful bourbon, brown sugar, and pecan noodle kugel; spinach and sweet potato latkes with cranberry relish; pumpkin pie sufganiyot (a.k.a. donuts) with cranberry icing; and deconstructed green bean casserole that consists of battered and deep-fried green beans with mushroom gravy for dipping (pictured below). The crowning glory of the whole menu is a $17 super stack of turkey, gravy, challah stuffing, cranberry relish, and spinach all piled on a crispy potato latke, simply called The Thanksgivukkah.

The bar side is getting in on the fun with a handful of seasonally inspired cocktails including a chocolate and brandy concoction called the Melted Gelt and the Chai Rye, made with Rittenhouse whiskey, Tuaca, chai tea, and black walnut bitters.

They're offering this special menu until December 8, so get down there and Gobble Tov, friends!
