As a countdown to the Best of the Twin Cities 2014, coming April 16, the Hot Dish is serving up 100 of our favorite local dishes.

Just like everything else the Wadi brothers do at this global fast-casual restaurant (which by the way might be the only one in town that serves both 40s of High Life and gluten-free desserts) the weekend brunch is creative and flavorful. There's caramelized lamb belly with cheesy hash browns; chicken and waffles with Moroccan spices and cumin honey; even their so called "Boring Breakfast" includes patties of house-made beef and lamb sausage light years beyond your standard Jimmy Dean.
They're baking all their biscuits, rolls, and other sweets in house, too, and though it's very rare that we get all worked up about a scone, one of World Street Kitchen's has managed to capture our attention.
The available flavors change up often, but if you happen to be there when World Street Kitchen is featuring the blue cheese and kimchi scone, snatch it up immediately and get extras to take home. A sweet scone is all very well and good (WSK's raspberry, pistachio, and apricot one is lovely), but there's so much more depth of flavor and textural interest to this funky mix of fermented cabbage and moldy cheese. Sounds super delicious when you put it that way, yes? Trust us -- it is.
