With their venture quickly gaining a reputation as a new neighborhood gem, Honey and Rye Bakehouse co-owners Emily Ackerman and Anne Andrus have plenty to celebrate. They're throwing a little party tomorrow to do just that.

They've been open to the public since the first week of November, but tomorrow marks the bakery's official grand opening. Rather than having one short party, Honey and Rye is making a day of it.
Starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning until closing time at 6 p.m., they'll be giving away free cookies and other dessert bites to customers who drop by, and will also do a drawing for 6-inch versions of their signature cakes. In the past they've offered a classic carrot layer cake with cream cheese frosting, a flourless chocolate torte, and an apple cardamom crumb coffee cake, to name a few. Even if you don't win the raffle, be sure to pick up a baguette or croissant (two of the standouts from our visits) while you're there.
And if you can't make it to the grand opening check out the virtual tour video Honey and Rye just released. All the beautifully shot dough and batter footage will make you feel like you're actually in their kitchen and probably inspire a carb binge. You've been warned.
