Nothing pairs better with local cuisine than musical accompaniment from an accomplished local musician. On a chilly January Sunday, Amy Brown and Heidi Andermack of Chowgirls Killer Catering will invite guests into their cozy space in Northeast for an evening of their locally sourced dishes and a serenade from Chris Koza.

From 6 to 9 p.m. on January 26, Koza will play music and engage in a conversation with the audience. Bill DeVille of 89.3 The Current, host of the United States of Americana, will moderate the discussion.

The Chowgirls menu is filled with hearty winter favorites like an "upside down" chicken pot pie with chicken, carrots, and peas in a thyme flecked gravy, topped with a flaky biscuit crown. Welcoming dishes to begin the night include sausage and squash kabobs with fried sage and maple butter, as well as water chestnuts and dates tucked into a bacon blanket and paired with a spicy sweet chili sauce. Perhaps most comforting of all the menu items will be a steamy, creamy crab meat-studded gratin. Dessert will be scratch-made pie, coffee, and tea.

What makes the evening extra cozy is the fact that this event is limited to just 40 attendees. Tickets, priced at $45 each, are available through Eventbrite.
