No matter how cold it gets here, we always know Embarrass, Minnesota, probably has it much worse than we do. Tomorrow, temps there are supposed to dip as low as 38 degrees below zero -- equivalent to the surface temperature of Mars. Hell's Kitchen announced today that they are offering some respite for those few souls who inhabit the coldest town in the state.

The popular breakfast and brunch spot has invited the entire town of Embarrass to "head down to hell" for a toasty brunch this Saturday.

Not only are they offering Embarrass residents a full brunch meal free of charge, including those divine lemon ricotta pancakes and the strangely wonderful sausage bread, the meal also comes with a complimentary Bloody Mary.

The Embarrass township has roughly 600 residents, so we imagine Hell's Kitchen is banking on a number of no-shows. But all Embarrass folks need to do to participate is email Pat Forciea, Hell's Kitchen vice president, and then take a little day trip down to the Twin Cities.

Wow! They expect them to drive 1/2 way across the state for Brumch!! It'd cost more in gas then the food. This is pure usery for publicity. not impressed!

Oh, one more thing, You should buy the Four Corners and let me run it Mitch. I'm talkin risk/profit sharing! LOL.

And if sales of Jumbo Burgers at the Four Corners go up from being cold and attracting people to the jct of 135 and 21, this guy is all for it.

Technically yes it is colder (low valley and all). And these sales are really reaping rewards in downtown Embarrass. I'm pretty sure the only people who care just report the weather.

This would have worked 10x better when they were in Duluth. That is the kind of forward thinking promotion that was lacking when they let the ship sink. Well at least you guys can find profit in the city. More power to ya.

Seriously.......... I live in Embarrass and what a joke this is........ "Pretty sure someone can stick their *brunch* up their ass."......... Thank you for being kind and all, however YOU dug deep when you talked about "A few souls who choose to live here".......... Your numbers are very wrong also, maybe a community of less than 300............. Long story short, "If you are going to advertise our community of folks who can handle 30-50 below on a daily basis......... you best bring the food to us!"......... *HUGS*

Awesome! Hell's Kitchen is worth the trip (from Embarrass or Denver from where several friends and I - all transplanted MNtans - fly in)!!

Just to let you know there are a lot of people from Embarrass down and around the Cities. I lived in Embarrass for the first 18 years of my life. Now I am in Buffalo. They used to have reunions down there for the people from Embarrass/Babbitt.

I'm 45 minutes north of them and we've had just as cold....a 3 hr drive for food though....on a day you hardly want to go outside...I guess I wouldn't go anyway.

Embarrass, MN really no colder than the rest of the Range, they just found a way to sell it better.

Oh, and Hell's Kitchen: there's nothing stranger than an Iron Ranger, proven here by bwkennels. Embarrass folk should understand this is good press, and a kind gesture. Sometimes it's good to just keep your mouth shut and don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

@zhaabo not always.  Embarrass has temps quite often that are lower than the Falls.  I was raised in the Falls and moved to Embarrass almost 34 years ago.

I guess I was a little angry after I was sent this link, so I do apologize for my anger....... In my opinion, this is a sales pitch towards free advertising while pin pointing the community in which I live..... How many folks from Embarrass are going to jump in their vehicle at 5 am, drive half way across MN to receive a free brunch by 11 am???....... I can guarantee you, not many..... It gets old that the only way our community is recognized is for being the cold spot in the US...... Embarrass is a beautiful area, with wonderful people who deserve a little more then being scoffed at or called crazy for living here......

So again, I apologize for my anger...... Maybe the cold is finally getting to me...... Have a great day!!.... ;)

@zhaabo@carol_queenie We 'unofficially' had -64 one year.  Tower recorded -62 that day and that was taken as an official temp.  The digital thermometer at the official reporters site went bonkers and the mercury thermometer split.  There were cold weather testing people in the area those few days and they had thermometers that recorded -64, but unofficially since they were not approved by the national weather service.  At any rate... it was dang cold!
