|Sea Change puts on their third annual Feast of Seven Fishes dinner|
On January 17, Minneapolis seafood hot spot Sea Change
will be hosting its third annual Feast of Seven Fishes dinner. For $80 guests will be treated to a five-course family-style meal that focuses on an elaborate array of ocean delicacies and comes complete with drink pairings.
The Feast of Seven Fishes stems from a longstanding Italian tradition that is typically held as part of the Christmas celebration. Sea Change's annual event takes place in January, as part of a post-holiday season celebration, and according to chef de cuisine Jamie Malone, "We follow a pretty similar format each year. Big, communal tables and lots of family-style food. Basically a big, fun, indulgent party!"

Chef Malone let us catch a sneak peak at a working version of the menu, which will include items like monkfish liver terrine with aged persimmon and green apple gelee, a baccala raviolo with egg yolk and smoked uni bottarga, and salt-baked whole bronzino and grilled whole arctic char with a variety of winter vegetables.
The Feast of Seven Fishes takes place on Friday, January 17, at 6:30 p.m. To make your reservations, call 612-225-6470.
In addition to the Feast of Seven Fishes celebration, Sea Change is also doing a temporary special tasting menu based on the Japanese tradition of Omakase, a style of tasting menu where the chef personally crafts the courses to the diners' tastes. According to the restaurant, "Each menu will be approximately 10 small courses, with wine and cocktail pairings. The guest will be served by a cook who will be able to interact with them and time the whole menu."
The Omakase dinners are only being offered on Friday and Saturday nights in January and reservations must be made directly to chef Malone's email (Jmalone@ciemail.com). The dinners are $100 per person and include drink pairings. More information can be found on the restaurant's event page
