Filling up with food for neighbors in need
We're used to having food trucks bring us the tasty treats. But this time, local beer company Finnegans has turned its truck the other way, launching a mean, green, do-good-ing machine that will be rolling around town picking up nonperishable food items. Here's where you, fair readers, come into the picture.

The reverse food truck will be unveiled at Kieran's Irish Pub on Saturday, March 15, where from noon to 4 p.m. it will be collecting nonperishable food items and accepting donations. You won't even need to worry about carrying cash: The truck comes equipped with credit card machines, so you can just swipe your card and receive that instant gratification of helping fight hunger in our community.

Since its inception in 2000, Finnegans has been committed to hunger alleviation. Founder Jacquie Berglund uses all profits that don't go toward paying bills or salaries to support nonprofits that feed those in need. The goal for this particular project is to raise $5,000 in donations throughout the month of March, Hunger Awareness Month. The larger goal is to raise $50,000 for the entire year.
