|Prepare yourselves: A burger battle will soon take over Mears Park|
If there's one thing we love here in the Twin Cities, it's our burgers. With several restaurants touting their own "perfect" variations on the classic sandwich, it's about time somebody set up a Thunderdome-style competition to see who really does have burger bragging rights. The Sanneh Foundation, a nonprofit that seeks to provide life skills to at-risk inner-city youth, has finally gone and organized such an event.
On May 17, several of the Twin Cities' top burgers will enter Mears Park in St. Paul's Lowertown, and only one will leave with the title of the Twin Cities' best burger.

As of now, 11 restaurants, many of whom are well known for their burgers, will compete in the competition, including the Nook, Victory 44, the Bulldog, Town Hall Tap, Red Cow, and the 5-8 Club.
Attendees will enjoy live music, local beer, and sliders from each of the participating restaurants -- all included in the price of admission. Guests will vote for the People's Choice Winner and a panel of judges will crown the first ever Twin Cities Burger Battle Champion. Proceeds from the event benefit the Sanneh Foundation.
The event will be held on Saturday, May 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. and tickets for the battle are $42.99 (including tax and ticket fees). For more information on the event or to purchase your tickets, visit tcburgerbattle.com
