|Meritage, the finest fine dining in St. Paul, made Urbanspoon's list|
According to Urbanspoon, the list was compiled based on price, feedback from Urbanspoon users, dining critics' reviews, and editorial picks. Other restaurants on the list range from the classically fancy New Orleans institution Commander's Palace to the ultra-modern and painfully chic Zuma in Miami.
The Twin Cities spots on this list fall somewhere between those two extremes. And aside from offering swank surroundings and impeccable service, they all also boast some of the freshest seafood in fly-over country. Oceanaire prides itself on a vast array of fish and fruits de mer flown in daily from around the world; Meritage's oyster bar is like a trip to the south of France and its Oysterfest, an annual event celebrating all things bivalve, is always a hit; and Manny's Steakhouse knows that splendor is more than a meat cart full of dry-aged steaks -- you've got to have that triple seafood tower. Perhaps in our landlocked state we've got a special appreciation for the luxury of a succulent lobster tail.
