If you're at all involved in the local social media scene, you've likely heard of 30 Days Of Biking, a group dedicated to promoting bicycling as an alternate means of transportation. The people behind the initiative have set up a fundraiser in partnership with northeast Minneapolis Thai restaurant Sen Yai Sen Lek, to help raise money for an organization called Free Bikes 4 Kidz.
The event will take place on Tuesday, May 6 at 5 p.m. and will start with a three-course meal at Sen Yai Sen Leck and will end with a nighttime bike ride along the Mississippi river. Dinner is $30 and $5 of every meal will be donated to Free Bikes 4 Kidz.

According to the 30 Days of Biking event page, all you have to do to participate is show up and let your server know you're there for 30 Days of Biking.
Sen Yai Sen Lek has a philosophy that includes community involvement and their menu tends to focus around local growers and producers. "We wanted to work with a restaurant that's as socially aware as most of our community members are," says Ginny Herman, one of the event organizers.
As for the actual biking portion of the evening, the group explains, "We'll roll out at 9 p.m. from Sen Yai Sen Lek and venture to the river for some delicious night riding. Lights, helmets, love, and happiness will make for a safe and fun night ride."
Free Bikes 4 Kidz
is a non-profit organization that works to provide bikes to kids in need. People can either donate bikes directly or make cash donations. According to the organization's website, in 2011 the organization provided over 5,000 bikes to kids.
