612Brew to have cask beers and food trucks for Art-A-Whirl Bash 2014

Art-A-Whirl, the annual open studio tour in northeast Minneapolis, is fine arts-focused, but the event has also become a chance to celebrate local beer, food, and music. 612Brew, located in the heart of the action in Northeast, is marking the occasion with its second annual Art-A-Whirl Bash.
While musicians such as Big Jess, MaLLY, and BOTZY take the stage and artists Adam Turman, Dogfish Media (beer posters), Garden Weasel Creations (jewelry), and Turning Baron (wood art) demonstrate their respective crafts, the brewery will be serving its own creations: five regular recipes and several additional cask beers.
The beers on hand will be Six, Rated R, Gateway Park, Zero Hour, and Main Stage (612Brew's latest seasonal, an amber ale), and the casks, while somewhat a secret, will be playful takes on traditional styles.
"[We'll have] familiar recipes with a significant twist," says 612's Robert Kasak. "Head Brewer Adam [Schill] has a lot of fun things in store like a beer [riffing] on Sour Patch Kids or a beer on, well, I can't tell you."
The official cask line-up will be unveiled at the event.
Along with the beers, the brewery is hosting five food trucks. Thus far, only three have been announced -- AZ Canteen, Motley Crews, and Cajun 2 Geaux -- and the final two trucks will be announced shortly before the event. AZ Canteen and Motley Crews will be sticking primarily to their regular menus, while Cajun 2 Geaux is planning a full crawfish boil, similar to their recent boil at the Summit Brewery.
