Patio season is officially here. No, don't look ahead at the forecast. We have felt the spring sun on our warm-weather starved faces and you can't make us go back inside! To mark the start of the season, Marin has opened its patio in downtown Minneapolis and welcomed the return of craft-cocktail slinger Chad Larson.
A Twin Cities bartender at large, Larson helped open Marin and has returned to run the cocktail program. This weekend, Larson will work to refine the restaurant's gin and tonic periodic table -- a sort of build-your-own G&T menu that Marin is known for. Seated at the outside bar, guests can pick through an extensive gin selection and determine which aromatics will best enhance their gin and tonics. (The tonic is, of course, made in-house from scratch.)
Also available outside, in addition to glorious sunshine, are Marin's flatbread pizzas and other selections from chef Mike Rakun's kitchen. And if you've got a sweet tooth, it wouldn't be a bad idea to order one of their classic ice cream cookie sandwiches.
