Weekend brew round-up: Town Hall re-opens, Badger Hill premieres Traitor IPA
Loren Green Town Hall Brewery's barrel-aging room
The sun is finally out, baseball is in season, and well, so is hockey, but let's talk about the sunshine. The sunshine and the beer.
This weekend in beer happenings, the Seven Corners brewpub Town Hall Brewery is opening its doors for the first time in 2014 after a lengthy remodel. They'll open to the public on Friday at 6 p.m. with more beers on tap, a renovated space, murals, and more. Next week will be their annual barrel-aged week, featuring limited release beer aged in barrels from Kentucky distilleries. Barrel-aged week begins at 5 p.m. on Monday, though tickets will go on sale at the brewery Sunday morning.
For those itching to sample some Brau Brothers, the southwest Minnesota brewery will be pouring samples at Whole Foods Maple Grove from 3 to 6 p.m.
Running all weekend long is the Beer Dabbler's Craft Beer Taproom at the American Craft Council Show at St. Paul RiverCentre.
As for taprooms and food trucks, there are many across the city, but a few weekend highlights are Motley Crews (Friday) and Simply Steve's (Saturday) at 612 Brew, Fork in the Road (Friday) and Get Sauced (Saturday) at Fulton, and Vellee Deli (Friday) and Heavy Metal Grill (Saturday) up the road at Indeed.
Correction: In an earlier version of this post, Hot Dish incorrectly reported the name of the brewery behind Traitor IPA. Badger Hill Brewery in Minnetonka released its Traitor IPA today. We apologize for the error.
