The appropriately named Barrel Room at Marin Restaurant & Bar

In the past few weeks, the Hot Dish has received a number of questions on the topic of where to host different sorts of parties, celebrations, and business-y gatherings. Instead of answering just one reader e-mail directly, we thought we would take this opportunity to address one (seemingly) big question: Which Twin Cities restaurants have the best private rooms?

Ah, the scramble to find and secure the perfect venue. It's something that most of us experience in the peak summer months, when it seems like every weekend someone is having a baby shower or a birthday or an annual recognition luncheon. To ensure that these supposedly fun events actually are fun (and not just a recurring nightmare of menu planning, Costco runs, and endless clean-up), we highly recommend hosting them somewhere outside your own abode.

Whether you are looking to throw an intimate, sit-down affair or more of an open bar knees-up, we have a handful of suggestions of where to start looking when you need to book a private room.
