Weekend brew round-up: Minnesota Craft Beer Week concludes
Mother's Day is upon us, as is another weekend of brews and breweries. You'll find plenty of activity about town as far as beer-related events go as well as the wrap-up of a busy Minnesota Craft Beer Week that has seen one-off beers released, tap takeovers, and all kinds of beer-themed fun since Monday.
What's still to come?
Beer of the Week: Big Wood's Jack Savage
On Friday, Surly hosts a Pentagram release party at Amsterdam in St. Paul. DJ Shannon Blowtorch will be spinning records. In White Bear Lake, Big Wood is releasing a firkin and giving away merchandise.
One of many Saturday events is the Spring Spread Food Truck Rally at Harriet Brewing, with 16 food vendors and barrel-aged Divine Oculust. Fulton hosts the Fulton Gran Fondo, a 100-mile bike ride for charity and a complementary block party. Both events are free of charge.
It's not only Minnesota Craft Beer Week, it's also Twin Cities Bike Week, and Boom Island is offering any cyclist who swings by their taproom a free four-ounce sample with any pint purchase.
In new Minnesota beers on the market, Lift Bridge has released Getaway Pilsner with throwback-inspired can artwork, and Schell's has a new North Country Brunette as part of their Noble Star Collection.
In food truck news outside of Harriet, Fulton will host Vellee Deli (Friday) and Kabomlette (Saturday), and Indeed will host Heavy Metal Grill (Friday) and Cajun 2 Geaux (Saturday).
