Sometimes it's hard to put your best green foot forward without being in the know. Here's a quick list of some great Twin Cities events that will keep your month's eating, growing, and dating(!) sustainable and eco-tastic.

Early in the month, it's all about education, mid-month you can dig into some farming, and as June winds down, some great new green markets will be opening. And yes, for the eco-conscious and lovelorn, we've tracked down an event that combines singles, a romantic evening, and getting dirty.

Get educated early in the month:

Toxic Taters Talk - The largest potato grower in the world, RDO, has farms in Minnesota that provide a whole lot of taters to McDonald's. Unfortunately, the way that these potatoes are cultivated has upset many people who live nearby. The Toxic Taters Coalition is traveling around the state drumming up support for their campaign to ask McDonald's to have higher sustatinability standards for their growers. June 4, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Walker Church, 3104 16th Ave. S., Minneapolis

GrazeFest - Learn about sustainable livestock production, collect recipes for grass-fed meat, and even get a sample or two at the Mill City Farmers Market as it hosts this Sustainable Farming Association project within the regular market. June 7, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., Mill City Farmers Market/Museum, 704 S. 2nd St., Minneapolis

Books and Bees - Get your copy of Keeping the Bees signed by author and melittologist Laurence Packer and hear his rollicking tales of tracking bees as well as his concern over the disappearing bee population. He's got suggestions about how to keep them here and is supported by the event's hosts and local apiary activists, the Beez Kneez. After the talk, Dr. Marla Spivak from the U of MN Bee Squad has a special local announcement to make. June 7, 7 p.m., The Beez Kneez Honey House, 2204 Minnehaha Ave. S., Minneapolis
