Milo's Kitchen Treat Truck

Mini hamburgers and chicken meatballs anyone? Oh no, not for you Hot Dish reader. This food truck is rolling into town to serve the four-legged set, an oft-overlooked segment of the street food market. Catch Milo's Kitchen Treat Truck on its national tour at one of four stops in the Twin Cities area this weekend.

Sure, dogs are second only to goats for their willingness to eat absolutely anything you put in front of them, but does that mean they don't appreciate a little special treatment every once in a while? Of course not. Will they appreciate the fancy truck and the dog beds and water bowls in the "backyard-style lounge" area? Whatever, as long as there are meatballs.

Milo's Kitchen Treat Truck isn't the first to jump on the mobile food trend with a dog-centric food truck; Rachel Ray traversed the country shilling her Nutrish brand dog food two years ago. And though it's all part of an elaborate branding campaign, full of the groan-worthy puns you might expect ("gourmutt" and "bark appetit!"), your dog won't care when he's chowing down on a bunch of tiny hamburger bites. Plus, it's all free, from the treats and the doggie bag to the "doggie selfie" photo booth.

It's a totally ridiculous concept, and yet we're still a little miffed that the truck won't be driving through the Twin Cities proper. If you and pup want to join in on the treats, you've got to haul yourselves to one of the following parks:

Bryant Lake
Saturday, August 9, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
6800 Rowland Road, Eden Prairie

Bloomington Dog Park
Saturday, August 9, 2 p.m.
111th St. and Hampshire Ave., Bloomington

Elm Creek Reserve Dog Park
Sunday, August 10, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
12400 James Deane Parkway, Maple Grove

Brookdale Dog Park
Sunday, August 10, 2 p.m.
Lee Ave N and Estate Dr., Brooklyn Park

My dog eats better than me, lol. Really thought most people in Mpls have been introduced to places like Chuck and Don's/Urban Animal ect., those place sells dog food/treats that are actually good for your pet. I think this place is a large scale dog food operation and not very good one at that.

NO thanks, let the burbs go crazy they buy their stuff from walmart anyway.
