The State Fair is over and football season has returned. It's still technically summer, so wait on those Oktoberfest steins and help prepare the annual hop harvest instead. This week has beer events from Beer Dabbler, Friends of the Boundary Waters, Lift Bridge, and more.

Saturday is the sixth annual Summer Beer Dabbler, hosted from 5 to 9 p.m. at Midway Stadium. Drink on the Saints' old field, and try some brews from Tin Whiskers, Lift Bridge, American Sky, Summit, and many national breweries. There's also a pre-festival two-mile run.

Speaking of sixth anniversaries, Saturday will also be the Pickin' and Grinnin' hop harvest party at Lift Bridge in Stillwater. Listen to live tunes and help harvest locally grown ingredients for their fresh hop beer. Similarly, Brau Brothers in Marshall is throwing HopFest 2014 from Friday to Sunday with live music outdoors and a special beer, Test Positive Ale

In northeast Minneapolis, Fulton will host an event at their new brewery at 2540 Second St. NE to benefit Operation Warm.

On Sunday, Harriet Brewing will sponsor "Cover Me Impressed," an all-day music festival of cover bands playing Van Morrison, Guns n' Roses, Pixies, Hall & Oates, Thin Lizzy, the Kinks, and more. The event is a benefit for the Epilepsy Foundation.

Later in the week, come Wednesday, Friends of the Boundary Waters will host the Brews and Canoes tasting event. The competition will announce the winners in five categories to commemorate 50 years since the passing of the Wilderness Act. Breweries include Bent Paddle, Big Wood, Lake Monster, Mankato, and more.
In new beers news, Fulton's Libertine is in the works, as is a fresh hop brew for taproom-only consumption. Badger Hill will soon release Foundation stout and Surly Darkness lovers can head to the taproom to try Damien, a small-batch beer brewed with leftover malts from Darkness.

Food trucks this weekend include Hot Indian Food (Friday), O'Cheeze (Saturday), and Gogi Bros, Motley Crew's, and Cajun 2 Geaux (Sunday) at Harriet. Natedogs (Friday), Asian Invasion (Saturday), and Gogi Bros (Sunday) will be at Surly, and Simply Steve's (Friday) and Kabomlette (Saturday) will set up at Summit.
