A loaf of bread is the perfect Valentine's Day gift.
This week at the Hot Dish the stories were extra hot to warm the coldest of days. Here are a few of the week's top reports. 

​~We know many of you want to get your lovin' on for Valentine's Day; here's our picks for the most romantic restaurants for you and your snookums.

~We also know that there are just as many V Day haters, so for you let us suggest our favorite ways make it through the holiday: with a plethora of margaritas, followed closely the next day by bloody Marys.

~Our little Crispin Cider goes big time after they are purchased by MillerCoors. 

~Downtown Minneapolis will be home to a brand new  Whole Foods in 2013.

~Take a tour of the all new Krungthep Thai, from the owners of the much loved Bangkok Thai in St. Paul, and read this week's review.

This week, we visit Social House.
​​It is time to wrap up another fine week at the Hot Dish as the local scene bursts with super sexy food action. Let us tell you all about it with a few of the week's top stories. 


~In the "Now Open" category we take a looksie at Eli's second location, and offer a tour and review Uptown's Social House (the former Zeno space). 

~Let's take a second to dream of spring; green grass, tulips bursting open, and the food trucks rolling back out into the streets--here's a new one to look forward to and a big congrats to Chef Shack, recently named one of America's 'most creative.'

~And more local accolades go to Kopplin's, named one of the nation's "coolest coffeehouses" by The Atlantic.

~Winter is the time for hearty fare and the most comforting of foods, like gooey noodles with cheese. Here's our choices for the Top Ten macaroni & cheese dishes offered in our fair cities.

​As we begin a sparkling fresh year of new food experiences, we can't wait to share all the latest news with you in 2012 and beyond. There were loads of great stories this week--here are a few of our favorites.

~Clink your glasses to health and happiness with the Twin Cities' best martinis.

~To celebrate 2012, we shared some our picks for the 12 best dishes under $12.

~Sure, most of us feel gross about all the cookies we ate over the holidays, but here are a few diet fads that get the Hot Dish thumbs down.

~Northeast Social is always a pleasure--love those craft brews and farm-fresh bites. Naturally, we are psyched to try Eat Street Social, coming soon.

We hope your New Year starts something like this-- 2012 is going to be swell!

​As we approach the new year dreaming of what's to come and meditating on the days that have passed, let's celebrate with sumptuous feasts and perfect drinks, toasting to all of our blessings.

Here are a few of the week's top stories.

~Get the latest scoop on the local restaurant scene with our Month in Review.

~Our Top 10 lists gets some folks ready for fisticuffs, so watch as panties bunch when we declare a few of our favorite coffee shops.  

~The newly launched Better Beer Society has some excellent events planned for 2012, including a screening of The Love of Beer, which documents women who rock the beer industry. 

~We can't think of a better way to start the New Year than at Meritage for a decadent brunch; 2-for-1 cocktails will be the mignonette on your oysters.
